Layl's newest polymer clay wall pieces will be on view from July 26th to September 9th at the Bloomington Art Center.

Layl's work will be on display until April 7th at the Evergreen Retirement Center in Oshkosh, WI. There will be an artist reception on February 4th starting at 4:00. Come and see Layl's latest large works and listen to her talk about her artwork and the process.

Family Outings: Making millefiori clay crafts with the kids
It's nearly impossible to make ugly millefiori, which is what makes the clay craft such a great fit for kids.I recently took my 9-year-old son to a class offered by artist Layl McDill at her studio in Northeast Minneapolis. We sat on stools around a long, high table made of clear Plexiglas with a half-dozen other children and a few parents. Chunks of polymer clay filled the middle of the table like squares of colorful bubblegum.

Caesar: Rise of the Apes Hits Theaters August 2011
Look for a Piece of Minnesota!
Clay Squared to Infinity was contacted last year by Fox Searchlight movie production inquiring about its Subway Ceramic Basket Weave tile pattern for the set of Caesar: Rise of the Apes. Clay Squared to Infinity provided the production team with 90 square feet of the tiles for the movie’s historic scenes.
So far this summer has been filled with travel for Layl and Josh has been busy in his studio with all kinds of projects. Layl went on a month long road trip to California. It will be interesting to see how the landscapes of Utah and Nevada influence Layl's creations in the coming months. Click here to read the entire newsletter.
