Layl's Silly Milly Art

More Canes in Process

Layl makes about one large cane a week plus multiple small canes. Each cane takes anywhere from 10 to 40 hours to make depending on how detailed they are and how soft the clay is. Most of Layl's canes are about 6 inches in diameter and 10 inches tall though she has made much larger and smaller canes. To see even more canes in process check out her "Silly Millies Facebook Page"  Here are more photos of canes being made.

Here you can see the sketch Layl started with and the ends of the canes once she's reduced it all down.

Here's how the "Peacock in the Moonlight" turned out.

When reducing Layl always squeezes the bottom smaller too.  Sometimes it distorts a little but it will still work out.
