Kid and Adult Clay Classes
This series of classes is designed so kids AND Aduluts can have lots of fun! Kids and adults can take this class on their own or they can take it together- Parents and kids, Grandma and grandkids, Aunts and neices... you name it!
Ages 8 and up.
There are four different classes each with a different finished project. In each class you will learn different techniques so we hope you will come to more than one.

Flower Power Class
Make an 8 inch polymer clay flower that really bursts from the wall! Learn the mysterious fluffyness techniquue and the new "McDill Twist". Then play in the glitter! Who doesn't love glitter!?

Kid’s Polymer Clay Class
Ages 8 to 98 will learn magical techniques with colorful oven baked clay. Roll, flatten, wrap and then slice to reveal amazing designs like stars, flowers and swirls. Then take your slices and cover anything you choose from the collection of objects including- frames, jars, boxes, utensils and pins. Or make a creature like a frog or owl! You'll be amazed what you can do!

Sun Sculpture Class
Create a 5 to 7 inch sun with lots of glitter and polymer clay! Learn Layl's special sculptural stuffing technique and glitter techniques. Plus create your own millefiore kalidescope design to use on some of the rays of your sun. You will also use some of Layl's scrap pile for details like the eyes and mouth. This finished piece can be hung on the wall to bring you some sunshine year around.

Art A Whirl

Bead and Button Class
BEAD and BUTTON MAKING

We start this class by adding curly hair to some funny little ladies and then turning those into beads and then we'll roll clay around in glitter and mica powder and more! It sounds crazy but you will learn how to roll colors of clay together to create amazing beads that can be baked in your own oven. Delight in the magical technique of millefiore which will make multiple beads that can be shaped into beads or buttons depending on how you slice it, dice it and poke it! No fancy equipment here- just your bare hands and a cutting tool and a toothpick and you will come away with a pile of beads and buttons to use in all kinds of creative projects. BYOB if you want!

Animal Wall Sculpture Class
You could immortalize your favorite pet or make a sculpture for a family member of their favorite animal. You choose the animal and Layl will help you create it. These pieces are made with a hook on the back so you can hang it on the wall. Make your own millefiore canes AND use some of Layl's Silly Millies. Learn Layl's special tissue paper technique to make this clay animal that actually looks "stuffed".

Face Cane Class

Learn how to make a face cane in one afternoon! Even if you have never touched polymer clay you can learn the magical technique of millefiore and what could be more fun than making a face! Layl has lots of tricks to help you be successful and have lots of fun. This class also comes with a very detailed handout so you will be able to make more faces later on your own.
All the colors will be premixed so we can get right into the fun of building a face! You’ll be amazed what you can do!

Basic Millefiore Class

You will learn several simple techniques like the jellyroll, checkerboard, stripes, and bullseye. We will incorporate these techniques into more detailed designs to make flowers, stars, butterflies and more! I will supply the clay, pre-conditioned and pre-mixed, so we can learn a lot in one night. You will also learn some color mixing techniques and secrets. At the end of the class you’ll have beautiful canes to make into beads, buttons, magnets, or use to cover objects.
No previous polymer clay experience needed.

Creative Activities Building
Pet Cane Class
$75 supplies included
This is an advanced class- the only class that you will need to have previous experience to take. You can take your cane making skills to another level and create a realistic cane of any animal portrait. Learn how to use “fluffyness” to make your fluffy kitty or how to make wrinkels on a bull dog. Layl will direct you with her nearly 20 years of cane making experience and you will make a 2 to 3 pound cane.
Send Layl pictures of the pet you want to make ahead of time so she can have colors premixed for you to start off with and save time!
