Nature Cane Class

Looking to learn a few new slightly more advanced cane making techniques? Layl will teach two to three new cane designs based on nature. As a group you will be able to choose from making a cactus, iris, rose, leaf, bumble bee, and other nature designs. If you have something you particularly want to learn feel free to bring in your ideas. Each cane will be about 5 to 8 oz. in size.

Goddess Class

Create the most fabulous goddess of your dreams at this two day workshop! Start by learning how to make a detailed armature for your 8 inch tall goddess. Learn how to make hands and a face that sparkle with glitter and personality. Then Layl will teach you how to make a kaliedescope pattern which will be used like fabric to create a beautiful gown for your godess. You will also be able to use many of Layl’s other millefiore stacks that she usually uses to make her goddesses. Each goddess will have it’s own unique theme. You could make a goddess of reading or a goddess of the Kitchen, or goddess of cats, or magic, or music, or anything you can come up with!

Cat and Dog Wall Sculpture Class

Whether you want to celebrate your favorite furry friend or make a silly gift for a relative you will have a great time learning new polymer clay techniques and watching the pile of color turne into a pooch or a kitty. You can bring pictures of a pet you want to emulate or just your imagination. Learn a few basic millefiore techniques and use Layl’s endless scrap pile. Ages 5 and up welcome!

Pet Millefiore Cane Class

Imagine what you could do with hundreds of slices of clay with tiny pictures of your cat, dog, rat or gerbil in it? Make lots of magnets for everyone you know, cover switchplates all over your house, use slices in your scrap book, make jewelry of all kinds, the possibilities are endless. You will make a one to two pound cane of your pet and learn Layl’s special reducing technique. This class is advanced so it is recommended that you either take one of Layl’s other classes or have some experience in cane building. E-mail Layl a picture of your pet so she can have some of the colors mixed ahead of time. You will be amazed what you can do!

Kids Sculpture Class

Learn how to make cool designs in polymer clay that can become the color fur, scales or feathers of the wildest creature you can imagine! We will build over a tinfoil form which will make it strong enough, and light enough, to tast!

BEGINNING MILLEFIORE CLASS

You will learn several simple techniques like the pin roll, checker board, stripes, and bulls eye. We will incorporate these techniques into more detailed designs to make flowers, stars, butterflies and more! I will supply the clay, pre-conditioned and pre-mixed, so we can learn a lot in one night. You will also learn some color mixing techniques and secrets. At the end of the class you’ll have beautiful canes to make into beads, buttons, magnets, or use to cover objects.
No previous polymer clay experience needed.

BEAD and BUTTON MAKING

Learn several new polymer clay techniques that you can apply to bead and button making. Learn how to poke the perfect hole including drilling through baked beads. Experiment with millefiore technique, foils, glitter and Pearl-Ex. Also learn some interesting shapes you never thought possible. No previous experience necessary.

Kids Polymer Clay Class

Ages 5 and up can join us for lots of fun with polymer clay. Learn basic millefiore designs and then slice them up to make fun projects. You will also get to use Layl's endless scrap pile of colors to create fabulous glass vases, small frames, knobs, and/or utensil handles. Or bring something of your own to cover!

COLOR CONCEPTS CLASS

Learn some tricks to mixing the colors of your dreams! Layl will teach you some interesting color techniques which include using other mediums to add color, such as acrylic paint. She will also give you some intersting color mixing exercises to increase your color knowledge. End the night with a pile of fun colors to play with on your own and a few simple polymer canes. No polymer clay experience needed.

Polymer Clay Home Decor Projects

Learn some fun millefiore and other polymer clay tricks, and then apply what you've learned to make some fun creations like covered jars, frames, knobs, pens, etc.! What a great way to usher in Spring- by creating your own silly fairy called a Wingy Dingy. Her body and head is clay and her wings can be feathers. Then she has copper legs and arms and hair that goes all over in swirls of colored wire. Hang her in a place where she can bring you a smile everyday.

Dimentional Switchplate Class

Learn some basic millefiore techniques and then add these plus some fun stuff from Layl’s scrap pile to make a single or a double switchplate with amazing dimentional details. You will receive a Store Credit less a $25 handling fee.
This Store Credit may be applied to a future
