BEGINNING MILLEFIORE CLASS

$50, supplies included

You will learn several simple techniques like the pin roll, checker board, stripes, and bulls eye. We will incorporate these techniques into more detailed designs to make flowers, stars, butterflies and more!  I will supply the clay, pre-conditioned and pre-mixed, so we can learn a lot in one night. You will also learn some color mixing techniques and secrets. At the end of the class you’ll have beautiful canes to make into beads, buttons, magnets, or use to cover objects.

No previous polymer clay experience needed.

FISH SCULPTURE CLASS

$40 supplies included

What could be more fun than turning a pile of clay into a pile of fish!?  Layl will teach you all about building fish that can be hung on the wall or from a string.  You could make a whole school of little fish to swim around your bathroom!  Learn interesting glitter and texture techniques along with some basic millefiore.  (Plus you get to use Layl’s scrap pile-  Yippee!)

BEAD MAKING CLASS

$35 supplies included

Learn several new polymer clay techniques that you can apply to bead making.  Learn how to poke the perfect hole including drilling through baked beads.  Experiment with millefiore technique, foils, glitter and pearl-ex.  Also learn some interesting shapes you never thought possible.  No previous experience necessary.  Pick a date:

DETAILED FLOWER CANE CLASS

Bring in a photo of your favorite flower and we will make a realistic cane that you can slice hundreds of beads from or turn into all kinds of beautiful projects.  Layl will teach you all about the millefiore technique as she creates along side you.  No previous clay or cane making experience necessary.

CREATURE CLASS

Have you always dreamt of making a clay hippo, frog or chinchilla? Whatever the creature I’ll help you make it! We’ll use colorful clay and glitter. You will also learn some simple canes that you can add to your creature.

No previous polymer clay experience needed.

KID POLYMER CLAY CLASS

Ages 5 and up can join us for lots of fun with polymer clay.  Learn basic millefiore designs and then slice them up to make fun projects.  You will also get to use Layl's endless scrap pile of colors to create fabulous glass vases, small frames, knobs, and/or utensil handles.  Or bring something of your own to cover!

Dragonfly and Butterfly Canes

I’ll bring lots of pictures of Butterflies and Dragonflies and so can you. We’ll choose some favorites and learn how to make them into a cane. The size of the cane will depend on the detail of the insect you want to make. Everyone will be working on a different cane at once so you will learn by watching each other too!

COLOR CONCEPTS CLASS

Learn some tricks to mixing the colors of your dreams!  Layl will teach you some interesting color techniques which include using other mediums to add color, such as acrylic paint.  She will also give you some intersting color mixing exercises to increase your color knowledge.  End the night with a pile of fun colors to play with on your own and a few simple polymer canes.  No polymer clay experience needed.

Fancy Feathery Frame Class

Start by learning how to make several canes that are “feather like” which you will use to decorate your 5x7 frame. The final product is a beautiful frame that looks like you spent days to make! Learn some basic techniques that will be helpful with other polymer clay projects involving making canes and covering objects.

Cat Ornament Class

$35 supplies included

Imagine the colorful kitty that you can create from a pile of polymer clay! I’ll teach you some basic millefiore techniques and then we’ll get out the scrap pile and make several different cats in different poses that you can hang any place that needs a little cat-ness.

ADVANCED MILLEFIORE CLASS

$85, supplies included for a 2 to 3 pound cane.

If you have done some basic Millefiore you may want to expand your knowledge into more complicated pictures.  In this class you bring the ideas and I help supply the Millefiore Magic.  I will have some colors premixed but you may choose to mix more specific colors for your needs. 

We will take a lunch break so we don't wear ourselves out.

Goddess Class

Create your own Goddess sculpture to hang on the wall or set on a shelf. We’ll start with a sketch so bring some ideas if you have any. Then we’ll build an armature and you’ll learn basic sculpting techniques to make the hands and face. You will create some canes of your own plus get to use Layl’s Silly Millies. This is a great class to gain a lot of different polymer clay skills that you can apply to all the amazing projects you’ll make in the future.
