Reader on the Stairs

To me this piece is about relaxing and taking a break- something I am not always good at. Its very hard for me to not keep climbing the stairs. At the top of these stairs is an archway of pillows. I think I always imagine if I keep climbing I will get to this magical place of relaxation but the figure is this piece is smart enough to take a break on the way up and read a book. There are birds in the stairway and I'm not sure what they symbolize... hmm... and what is that factory type piece in the sky... hmmm... I like to have bits and pieces that are open to interpretation.
