Inspiration: This was my first larger piece to create after our trip to Italy. I was still reeling from all the fabulous food and art. I loved all the flowing fabric in the paintings so I was anxious to creat flowing fabric with clay. In a lot of ways she is a celebration of our trip.
Technique: Her skirt is created with lots of scrap clay covered in 5 or 6 colors of glitter. I was sure covered with glitter after that day! The other fun part was making pasta with clay to decorate the bottom of her skirt. Now I look at the noodles I am cooking in a whole new way- how do they make Rotini? A new mystery to solve!
